Fighting a losing battle

“When seasons change there’s nothing you can say. A yellow leaf from a birch tree falls away, the valley fills with cry of mournful cow, the silent sun falls faster every day.” William Duke.

Try as I might to hold onto summer, change is coming and autumn is knocking at the door.

Like I said, I have nothing against autumn, it’s a season I utterly adore but I’m trying to hold it off for as long as possible because once we enter cosy season, it’s here for the long haul.

I saw someone mention on Instagram that they’re looking forward to the next four months of cosiness, but in reality it’s much longer than that.

I have really missed the bitterly cold days over the past couple of winters; the long wet days of autumn and winter have dragged and as much as I try to embrace the seasons, I’ve struggled.

So this is why I’m in no hurry to start cosy season, but believe me; I’ll be very glad when it’s here.

A xx
