Life

It’s been a while…

Looking back, it’s always around this time of year that I seem to pick my blog back up and get the urge to write. Do people still read blogs anymore? I still love to read people’s thoughts and musings, but I fear I’m in the minority, so that begs the question, why am I writing at all?

Because I do it for me – I love looking back and seeing what I wrote – it gives me access to memories I’d forgotten all about and that is a fantastic feeling. When I feel passionate about something, I want to write and what’s inspired this post, is late summer and making the most of it.

I absolutely adore autumn; it really is one of the most incredible seasons, but I am in no rush to leave summer behind. Namely, because only one of my dahlias is flowering! Late summer is such a fabulous time of year; the sun is coming up around 6am, meaning we get the most fantastic sunrises, it’s still (sometimes) warm enough to eat outside, summer dresses can still be worn with your favourite cardigan, and there’s still plenty of seasonal food to be eaten. I for one, am going to be very sad when there’s no more tomatoes or courgettes available in the greengrocers.

Anyway, I’ve dipped my toe back and in and just writing these few words has inspired my next post, which will be all about why autumn starts for me on the solstice.

I have to say, it’s good to be back.

A x
