Oh my goodness, its been a while since we’ve hopped into the car knowing that we can go exploring, and I really have missed doing this with my handsome one.

We randomly took a Thursday off this week, so we could visit Cotswold lavender before they close on Sunday (26th July) to harvest the lavender and turn it into something even more gorgeous.

I hadn’t realised it was even open until last weekend, so the beginning of the week started with a pleading email to my boss, asking if I could have a day off this week to walk around lavender fields, puuurrrrlllleeeeeeaaasssseeee! Luckily, she’s a fab boss and said yes.
I started visiting the lavender fields years ago and when I met the handsome one, it’s a tradition that we’ve been able to enjoy together. There’s something truly magical about walking up and down lavender fields that are literally humming with the sound of bees.

Although, it has to be said that walking around beautifully scented fields of lavender is seriously hard work, so we needed to go somewhere to refuel and relax. Fortunately, the Ebrington Arms isn’t far away, so we chanced going there even though we didn’t have a reservation.

Luckily, the landlord was happy to accommodate us and we settled at a table outside, next to a bed of beautifully scented bed of herbs and a fig tree. It feels like a lifetime since we’ve been able to visit, so we were very happy to be back.

Rose and a pint ordered, we got down to the business of reviewing the menu. The only issue here was deciding what to order because everything looked amazing!

We were both in for the crab to start and decided to ‘share’ our mains of the hake and rump of lamb. Basically, Dave got a mouthful of hake before I stole it from him because it looked and smelt incredible!

We always talk about how lucky we are to have so many amazing pubs near where we live, that not only serve brilliant beers, wine and food, but also places that aren’t too pretentious. As much as you’ll see beautiful people drinking champagne, equally, you’ll see beautiful men and women drinking a pint, and having a good time, which is exactly what it’s all about.
We’re home now, apologising to Bella for not taking her with us, but she knows there’s plenty more adventures on the horizon.
