Five things that made me smile this week

I’ve not written one of these for a while so I think it’s a good time to start again!

My Crew
What would I do without these guys? My handsome one, our pooch and chickens are my world, quite literally now and that gives me great comfort. In these scary times, it has made me so grateful for my little family – Bella because of her sweetest nature and getting us outside everyday, the chickens because they’re just hilarious little fluff-balls and my handsome hunk who I always want to spend more time and now I get to.

The Countryside
I grew up in the countryside, so at heart have always been a country girl. I had the best time when I lived in Cheltenham and loved being part of that bubble of having everything on my doorstep, but the country life is the life for me. Luckily for me, the handsome one felt the same, which is why we’ve ended up where we are, in a small village in the Cotswolds. I’ve always appreciated where we lived, but never so much as now because of Covid-19 – we’re so lucky that we live remotely, have a garden and can get outside without seeing anyone. I know this isn’t the case for everyone, so really makes me appreciate what we have.

Work
I’ve talked about my work quite a lot of recently, but it’s something that has made me smile this week (and also want to pull my hair out!) – the whole business is pulling together to support our farmers, growers and producers, and I feel very proud to work for such a brilliant organisation. I also feel lucky that I have a job, am able to work from home and can actually do my role, as I know that this isn’t possible for a lot of people.

My Cameras
I now get the chance to use my cameras all the time and I just can’t get enough of taking pictures! When I’m sat at the kitchen table working, I’ve got my Nikon right next to me, with its long lens so I can get pictures of the birds on the feeder and don’t even get me started on my Canon 50mm 1.4 lens. The range of what you can do with this lens is amazing and I’m just starting to master the manual functionality, which I’m pretty chuffed about.

The Sunshine
Hasn’t the weather been absolutely gorgeous this week? I know we need to be inside for the most part, but it does help to look out of the window and see the sun streaming through.
