It’s ok to be ok and it’s ok to not be ok.
Life throws things at you that you’re not prepared for, you lose people you love, changes happen and that’s just the way it is. When these things happen there is no right way of dealing with any situation, so you’re allowed to do what you need to do to heal and move forward.
It’s ok to be sad, it’s ok to cry, it’s ok feel numb, it’s ok to be feeling anything you feel.
I saw this quote recently and I really don’t agree with it.

Try telling the person who’s lost their best friend, tell this to the person who is suffering from depression, tell this to someone who has lost their job, tell this to someone has been diagnosed with a life-changing disease, tell this to someone who is fighting a battle you don’t even know they’re fighting – until you’re that person, you cannot know how hard or not their life is.
What you can do, is something that doesn’t cost you a single thing and that is to be kind – kindness is the loveliest trait that any one person can have.

This includes being kind to yourself. You’re feeling shit, you don’t want to get up, you don’t want to go to work, you don’t want to eat, you don’t want to smile and do you know what, you don’t have to. What you need to do is give yourself a break and be kind to yourself, and think, what will make you feel better? Would not going to work really help? Would not eating help? Be kind to yourself and think about what would help you.
Would going to for a walk and breathing in some fresh air help? What about putting on your favourite song and jumping around like no-one can see? What about putting your pjs on and watching your favourite film? What about picking up your favourite book? What about calling someone you care about and telling them you love?
Whatever it is, be kind to yourself, be kind to others and do what you need to do to move forward and be happy.
And don’t worry, it’s going to be ok.
