Is it to early to be excited by Christmas?

That was a rhetorical question because of course it isn’t!

Christmas country renovation

Don’t worry, this picture is from last Christmas… We’re getting our tree next weekend, not that the Handsome One knows that yet..

So you may have guessed that the HO isn’t *quite* on-board with early festivities, so I’ve been trying to get him in the spirit without him even realising. I’ve been putting out St Eval ‘Inspiritus’ candles, which are divine and smell like Christmas; cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon and also festive tealight holders, which he’s not even noticed yet!

I love the St Eval candles; they’re gorgeous, they make your house smell incredible without even lighting them, they’re handmade in Cornwall, natural and St Eval think about the impact they make on the environment. What’s not to love?

Even though it has started getting warmer again, the cold snap we had, has made me feel more festive, especially with the brief but gorgeous snow shower we had on Wednesday! Luckily I sit by a window at work so I could gaze out and watch the flakes falling (productivity at it’s best). I was hoping for this, but it didn’t quite live up to it…

Snow in the Cotswolds

Whilst getting the decorations out this weekend might be a push too far, I’m thinking that we can make the Christmas cake, knock together some mulling syrup, think of any decorations we need (may as well make the most of the Black Friday sales) and prepare the front room for the Christmas tree!

That is hugely exciting as this was our front room now vs how it was last year…

To be fair, this is actually a tidier version, it was an absolute state, you couldn’t get it in the room properly, the Chesterfield didn’t even have it’s legs on – it was a mess.

However, this year, we have flooring, a rug, a TV, candles, rugs – now that might not seem like much, but anyone who has / is renovating will know where I’m coming from.

Actually, seeing as we had rather a large tree in the kitchen last year, we could probably do with one in kitchen AND the front room.

I ran it by Bella to see if I could get her onside but she doesn’t seem to care…

I’ll let you know how I get on with the HO.
