Happy bank holiday weekend!
I’m checking my five weather apps on an hourly basis, hoping that the forecast is going to change, and let’s just pretend the weather warning for rain didn’t just pop up on my phone. Despite of the weather, we still have three days off work, which means I’ve already turned my alarm off. Bliss.
We’ve got family coming to visit from London this weekend, so we’re looking forward to seeing them and showing them our house, as they’ve not seen it yet. It’s still a work in progress, but we now have heating, a fully working bathroom, a kitchen and electrics; what more could they want?
It will be lovely exploring the Cotswolds with them, but with the weather looking distinctively wet, it does ‘dampen’ the plans. There is a farmers market happening on Sunday morning at Bourton on the Water, so if Saturday night isn’t too alcohol-fused then we will definitely try to get there especially as I’ve never been before.
A wonder around The Slaughters is definitely on the cards and we’ll certainly find some time to spend a few lazy hours with the papers at The Manor House in our gorgeous village, in Moreton in Marsh.

I was also hoping to do some gardening, especially as only yesterday I ate the fruits of my labour, in the form of a french radish and it was gorgeous! I’ve also counted four tomatoes on two of my plants – I’ve got 10 tomato plants in total, so hopefully the amount of tomatoes I’m buying will diminish over the next couple of months. I’m so pleased they’re producing fruit and I’m amazed how huge the plants are – even more than that I’m looking forward to seeing the types that have germinated as I’ve currently got no idea!

Hopefully the weather will relent and we can have a BBQ (because I’ll have a valid excuse to go to Lambourne Butchers and buy more of their amazing sausages), but if not I’m sure it’ll be a great weekend and I’ll get my hands on those sausages one way or another!
