Well to begin with we spent the majority of the weekend in our new house!
I’m sure everyone thinks this when they buy their first house, but I just love it so much.
On Friday I raced home from work to see my handsome one and Bella at our cottage; after rapidly shoving some food down my neck, I packed up a few essentials (cleaning products and chairs) and was raring to when the handsome one stopped me in my tracks and presented me with a bunch of flowers, a card and a bottle of champagne, so as you can imagine I promptly burst into tears!
Emotions were at an all time high as we got in the car; having my own home and garden is something I’ve always dreamed of and it has finally come true.
When we arrived at our new house (!), we opened the door and as requested by his Mother, The HO (handsome one) carried me over the threshold and we jumped for joy and ran around our house & garden with utter glee! With the champagne popped and (some of) the giddiness subsided, we took a look around and the reality of how big the project is started sinking in.

Essentially, the house is a shell. There is a separate bath and grotty toilet downstairs, which is next to the kitchen – we are going to take out the walls between the bath and toilet to open up the space and have the big open-plan kitchen that dreams are made of. ANNNDDDDD we are getting some advise as to whether we can have a double-sided woodburner – now this is the real dream.
Something like this would be nice.

I have no idea about how the living room will look or the bedrooms upstairs. However, I do have plenty of ideas about the bathroom, as we will be converting one of the bedrooms into a bathroom upstairs.
As amazing as our cottage that we’re renting is, it doesn’t have a bath, so I can’t wait to get a tub that I can laze around in! Our bathroom won’t be huge, so I think something like this could work really well.

As you can tell, I’m rather excited and I’ve not even mentioned the garden which deserves it’s own post! Once the builders and plumbers have been round, we’ll have a more clear idea of what we can and can’t do, and I’ll be sure to keep you updated 🙂
Happy Monday, everyone!
