It’s Friday!

Is it just me or is anyone else immensely glad it’s Friday?
I have to admit that I’m not quite used to these five day weeks after a bout of bank holidays! I think I’m especially looking forward to the weekend after reading this last night…

I can tell you that I had a few more Estrella’s after and during reading this. We knew there was going to be some areas for concern but there was much more than expected. Some of the things we could already see; like the windows, the fact that there is damp in the downstairs toilet and bathroom, the electric storage heating, which probably had an impact on the damp and so on. However, it felt like the list never ended and the drainage is a bit of a concern, so I imagine this weekend we’ll be getting in touch with the relevant people to organise a visit and advise us what needs to be done and how much it’s going to cost.

BYE MONEY, I’LL MISS YOU!

There is so much to do in the house, but all I can think about is the garden! Well I use that term loosely, it’s currently a jungle with patches of concrete, although there is an elderflower tree in the corner and a peony at the front of the house. Win!

Once the oil heating and bathroom has been installed we will be able to move in and get ourselves a couple of girls (chick, chick, chickens!) to eat grass to their heart’s content and then I’ll be able to attempt a little vegetable patch whilst the handsome one uses his drills to his heart’s content. By the time we move in, it will be a little late in the year to be planting but I’m sure they’ll be crops I can attempt such as potatoes and seeing as the garden is such a mess, I can just do some trial and error, before we have it fully landscaped.

If anyone has any ideas of what I could put in my make-shift patch or has any tips then please let me know! I think we should be living there by the end of August, depending on the building work.

Big love,
A xx
